The regimes around that certification have tightened, the documents behind it are now discoverable, and the exposure attaches to you personally in a way it did not a decade ago. The review that supports the statement is often a checklist and an experienced read under schedule pressure.
CIM checks the design against the Building Regulations and the client's brief on every issue, and returns each finding with the clause and the drawing it came from. Compliance and coordination are read on the same pass, because in practice they fail together.
What you sign is backed by a dated review with its working attached. If it is ever examined, the review is a document rather than a recollection.
