Frequently asked questions

What CIM Build checks, how it handles your data, and how to try it on your own project.

What CIM Build does

What is CIM Build?

CIM Build is construction intelligence management software for builders, developers and the consultants who work with them. It reads every drawing, specification, consultant report and brief on every revision, checks them against each other and against the BCA/NCC, and keeps the findings in live registers with the sheet and clause behind each one.

Can ChatGPT or Claude review a full construction document set?

ChatGPT and Claude can read the files you upload to one conversation, and they are useful for drafting and for questions about a single document. CIM Build reads the whole set together, checks each document against the others, cites the sheet and clause for every finding, and runs again on every revision, which is the work a tender review needs.

How does CIM Build check consultant reports against the drawings?

CIM Build reads each consultant report (geotech, acoustic, ESD, fire, traffic, waste) and checks every requirement in it against the drawings and schedules. A fire door scheduled at a lower fire rating than the fire engineering report requires, or a wall drawn at a lower acoustic rating than the acoustic report calls for, comes back as a finding cited to both documents.

Report compliance →

How does CIM Build find changes between drawing revisions?

CIM Build compares each new revision against the last one sheet by sheet and lists every change, including the changes nobody clouded. Each change is boxed on the sheet and recorded against the revision it arrived in.

Revision tracking →

Can CIM Build level subcontractor quotes?

Yes. CIM Build reads each subcontractor quote against the trade scope from the drawings and specification, lines the quotes up item by item, flags the allowances one quote carries and the others leave out, and exports the comparison to Excel for the estimator to check.

Tender levelling →

Does CIM Build check drawings against the PPR?

Yes. CIM Build runs the PPR and the drawing set against each other in both directions on every issue, so a requirement in the brief that the drawings don't show, or a drawn item the brief doesn't allow for, comes back as a finding.

PPR vs the drawings →

Which building code editions does CIM Build check against?

The BCA/NCC volumes from 2019 to 2025 and the Red Book are preloaded, so the team can query them directly against the job.

Reviewing what it finds

How do I know a finding is right?

Every finding cites the sheet, the clause and the document it came from, so the person reviewing it can open the source and confirm it in seconds. The team triages each finding as reviewed, needs action or RFI, and nothing goes to a consultant until a person sends it.

AI-suggested RFIs →

Will my team rely on the AI instead of learning the job?

CIM Build does the reading and the cross-referencing, and the estimator or design manager makes every call on what a finding means for the price or the schedule. Because each finding links to its source, juniors see exactly where the problem sits in the documents.

Integrations

Does CIM Build work with Procore?

Yes. CIM Build connects to Procore, syncs the drawings and documents as they are issued, and runs its audits on the current revision, with every finding traced back to the sheet and revision in Procore.

Procore integration →

Does CIM Build work with Aconex, Autodesk Construction Cloud or SharePoint?

Yes. CIM Build connects to Aconex, Autodesk Construction Cloud, SharePoint, Google Drive and Outlook, so documents come in from wherever the project keeps them.

Security and data

Where is CIM Build's data stored?

CIM Build's standard hosted environment keeps customer data in Australia. The sub-processor list, architecture overview and data processing terms are published at trust.cim.build.

Does CIM Build train AI models on customer documents?

No. Your documents, prompts and configured checks remain yours, they are not used to train models made available to other customers, and you can request deletion at any time and receive written confirmation.

Is CIM Build SOC 2 compliant?

CIM Build attained SOC 2 Type I in July 2026. An independent web application penetration test in June 2026 returned zero critical findings, and all findings have been remediated.

Getting started

How do I try CIM Build on my own project?

Book a briefing and bring a current tender pack or a set from a job you know well. The team runs it through CIM Build and walks you through what comes back, cited to your own sheets.
