Building Regulations assessment
The design assessed against the Building Regulations, clause by clause.
Only a fraction of the Building Regulations touches any one sheet, and working out which fraction is the job. A senior reads the set, holds the applicable provisions in their head, marks up what fails, and starts again when the next issue lands. The read is expensive, it sits inside a fixed fee, and the sheets at the end of it get less attention than the ones at the start.
CIM assesses the set against the provisions that apply to the building's class and construction type. The Building Regulations and the Approved Documents are preloaded, so the team can query them directly against the job. Each finding cites the clause, the sheet and the revision it was assessed against, so the reviewer is checking a conclusion rather than hunting for the evidence behind it.
Every sheet is assessed to the same standard, and the assessment re-runs on the next issue in minutes. The senior's time goes to the findings that need judgement, and the report that goes out carries a record of what was read.
