The business runs on workbooks and documents. The trade breakup, the RFI log, the tender comparison, the lessons learnt register, the letter that has to go out today - all of it is an .xlsx or a .docx that somebody has been formatting the same way for fifteen years, sitting on a drive away from the drawings it describes.
The workspace takes those files as they are. Drop an .xlsx or a .docx anywhere on the page and it imports. Sheets open in a grid with a formula bar, formula autocomplete, cell references, the drag-to-fill handle and undo, so a cadet who has used Excel is productive in the first ten minutes. Documents open in a normal editor. When something has to leave, it exports back out as .xlsx or .docx.
What the workspace adds is the project around it. The files sit in folders beside the drawing set, your own templates come across and get reused job to job, and a change asked for in plain English happens in the document with every AI edit highlighted for a person to accept or reject, line by line.
