Protect your margin from unclouded changes

Once a job is live the documentation only gets messier. Drawings reissue at 75%, at IFC, and again each time a consultant fixes their own work, and not every change arrives clouded. An unclouded change reaches site one of two ways: your team builds it as though it was always in the contract, or they build off the sheet it superseded and rectify at your cost. Either way you have delivered scope you were entitled to be paid for, and it comes straight off the job's margin.

That matters commercially as well as practically: most amended contracts give you 14 days or less from when you knew, or should have known, about a change, and the clock starts when the revision lands whether or not anyone opened it.
